Translating technical concepts into actionable recommendations to policymakers is challenging. Some of the areas in which I work:
Internet Security
An early proponent of secure routing and RPKI adoption in the Higher Ed community, I helped Internet2 develop a secure routing strategy.
I've served as an ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers) Advisory Council member looking at Internet number resource policy proposals.

Cryptocurrency Policy
With a deep understanding of the complex cybersecurity and regulatory landscapes in cryptocurrency, I advise state and Federal policymakers on issues at the intersection of these areas.
Research & Education (R&E) Infrastructure
I co-founded the Internet2 Technology Policy group, where we explore issues that impact Research and Education (R&E) networks and engage with Federal efforts in networking and security.
Andrew Gallo (GWU), Mark Johnson and I have done extensive data collection about R&E networks & exchanges and their role supporting critical societal functions. Our paper "Are R&E Networks Really Critical" will be presented at TPRC53.
